Masters Gallery Foods faced significant challenges in managing the impacts and damages to their lift trucks, new racks, and products. The company had recently expanded its warehouse size and increased its lift truck fleet, which necessitated a more efficient fleet management system. The primary challenge was to reduce the damage occurring to the new infrastructure and improve the overall productivity of the lift truck operations. Additionally, the company needed to comply with OSHA mandates for pre-operation checklists, which were previously managed through paper forms, adding to the administrative burden.

To address the challenges, Masters Gallery Foods implemented the iWAREHOUSE fleet and warehouse optimization system from The Raymond Corporation. The system was installed in August 2009 and included several modules designed to enhance operational efficiency. The iIMPACT module was used to monitor and assess lift truck impacts, providing real-time notifications and alerts to warehouse and service managers. This allowed for immediate action and training to reduce the number of impacts. The iMETRICS module was utilized to monitor the average uptime and productivity of the lift trucks, aiding in the expansion of third-shift operations and setting operating parameters for new operators. Additionally, the iVERIFY module helped the company comply with OSHA mandates by digitizing the pre-operation checklist process, making it more sustainable and efficient. The iTRACK module was used for maintenance analysis, allowing for root-cause analysis and better management of maintenance needs.
