关于客户
Piraeus Bank Group is a financial institution founded in 1916 in Greece. The bank provides a range of financial services, including retail banking, capital markets, and investment banking. It operates in Greece and neighboring countries including Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania. With total assets of €77 billion (US$102 billion) and 5 million customers, Piraeus Bank Group has recently acquired two smaller banks in Greece—ATEbank and Geniki Bank. The bank operates 1,328 branches and has 18,000 employees.
挑战
Piraeus Bank Group, the fourth-largest Greek lender, was facing challenges in accessing 'big data' for marketing campaigns, monitoring liquidity in near real time, and reorganizing its branch network based on better insight. The bank had invested in a new data warehouse based on IBM Banking Data Warehouse to improve organizational effectiveness and profitability. However, they needed a solution that was easy to use across the organization and could handle the exploration of terabytes of big data with one application. The bank also wanted to transform itself by closing the skills gap between IT experts and business users through self-service analysis.
解决方案
Piraeus Bank Group deployed the QlikView business discovery platform to 670 users for customer targeting, liquidity monitoring, and overview of key performance indicators. The QlikView users at Piraeus Bank Group now include the chief finance officer, chief executive officers, treasury managers, and individual product managers. The self-service functionality of QlikView has enabled business users to no longer depend on the IT department to generate BI analysis. The ability of QlikView to function as an extract, transform, and load (ETL) tool for data was critical in giving senior managers an overview of liquidity in near real time. The application integrates data from the main operational system, so no data warehouse is involved. QlikView combines intraday data with historical views, including product details and transactional data.
运营影响
