The company operates through both distribution and retail channels, offering a variety of ways to serve their customers. As a growing business, Becker Safety & Supply transitioned from manual paper processes to using NetSuite and a warehouse management system (WMS) in 2016. However, their initial WMS did not meet their needs, prompting them to seek a more reliable solution.

Becker Safety & Supply faced significant challenges with their initial warehouse management system (WMS). The system had major data discrepancies, particularly between what the scanners reported and what was in NetSuite. This led to wasted time and logistical issues, especially at receiving, where the system did not allow for receipts from mobile devices. The previous WMS was also clunky and not user-friendly, causing inefficiencies and errors in order fulfillment.

Becker Safety & Supply decided to replace their initial WMS with RF-SMART after evaluating several other solutions. RF-SMART was chosen for its ease of use and functionality, particularly its mobile device capabilities. The new system allowed employees to quickly determine order status, reducing the need to retrace steps or hunt for missing items. RF-SMART also improved the receiving process by allowing multiple employees to work simultaneously and receive multiple purchase orders, eliminating previous bottlenecks. The system's real-time updates to NetSuite and its ability to handle serialized items further enhanced operational efficiency.
