The Challenge
San Joaquin RTD faced several challenges in providing a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solution to the general public and disabled riders. They needed a mobile app that could securely process credit card payments and display a map covering the appropriate service areas. Additionally, they aimed to operate more efficiently and streamline internal operations. A significant part of their challenge was to offer demand response services to all riders, especially those with mobility restrictions.
The Solution
To address these challenges, San Joaquin RTD implemented Ecolane DRT, a completely automated scheduling and dispatching software. This solution streamlined their operations by automating the scheduling and dispatching processes. Additionally, they deployed Ecolane Touch Screen MDT software with turn-by-turn navigation running on Android tablets, which enhanced the efficiency of their fleet management. The advanced mobile app developed for this program was capable of accepting credit card payments, providing a portal for riders to book and manage trips, and sending push notifications. This comprehensive solution empowered riders to register on the fly and book their trips either through the mobile app or by calling dispatch, giving them control in the palm of their hands.
