About The Customer
PostcardMania is a direct mail company founded in 1998. The company has grown from a 3-person team into a firm with more than $20 million in revenues, 200 employees and 12,000 customers at any one time. The company is headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, US. They deliver social media, email marketing, direct mail and other services for about 12,000 active customers out of over 63,000 total. The company is very data-oriented, tracking progress in every division of their organization.
The Challenge
PostcardMania, a direct mail company, was facing challenges with their existing system of QuickBooks and custom software to manage their financial and customer information. The growing complexity of their operations led to the realization that they needed an ERP system. The existing system was not holistic and lacked accounting features. The company also realized they needed to increase their efficiency, but they only had so many expenses they could cut before they wouldn’t be able to do their jobs. They were very data-oriented, in terms of how they track progress in every division of their organization. It took a lot of money and effort to get that data. So for them, upgrading to an ERP was a matter of becoming more efficient, growing the EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) and profitability.
The Solution
PostcardMania decided to switch to Acumatica after investigating various options for nearly two years. They chose Acumatica because it offered a perpetual license, which allowed them to purchase the rights to the source code and scale up or down without having to purchase additional user licenses. They decided on the Enterprise edition of Acumatica and plan to implement all of the suites Acumatica offers (Financial Management, Customer Management, Distribution Management and Project Accounting) and are also considering adding JAAS Advanced Manufacturing Software (JAMS) in the future. The company also appreciates the flexibility of the Acumatica platform, which gives them the ability to customize features to best meet their needs.
Operational Impact
  • Real-time 24/7 access to financial and customer data through web-based system
  • Improved productivity and reduced training time and expense with user-friendly system
  • Potential for a drastic decrease in errors and refunds
  • Dramatic reduction in re-work and non-value-added process steps
Quantitative Benefit
  • $600,000 projected increase in profitability (EBITDA)
