About The Customer
PT. Sumatra Motor Indonesia (SMI) is an authorized distributor for the Cleveland Motorcycle brand in Indonesia. In addition to distributing motorcycles, the company also sells merchandise and accessories, motorcycle parts, and provides motorcycle maintenance services. SMI was previously using ACCURATE Accounting software to manage their business operations. However, as the company grew, they found the need to upgrade to a more flexible and comprehensive ERP system that could better support their business processes, from procurement to sales and finance/accounting. They also needed a system that could effectively manage their sizable inventory, which includes SKU, part number, and VIN number, and provide full mobile access for remote approvals. Furthermore, they wanted a system that could manage both their prospects and existing customer base.
The Challenge
PT. Sumatra Motor Indonesia (SMI) is an authorized distributor for Cleveland Motorcycle brand in Indonesia. They also sell merchandise/accessories, motorcycle parts, and motorcycle maintenance services. SMI was previously using ACCURATE Accounting software, but they were looking to upgrade to a flexible ERP system that would streamline their business processes from procurement to sales and finance/accounting, manage their sizable inventory (including SKU, part number, and VIN number), allow full mobile access for remote approvals, and manage both prospects and existing customer base.
The Solution
SMI initially considered RetailSoft as a potential business solution, but chose Acumatica because SMI’s CEO was hesitant that RetailSoft could streamline their business processes effectively. SMI implemented the Acumatica Financial, Distribution, and Customer Management suites with the help of Acumatica Reseller PT EMS Paramitra, who also assisted with a custom solution for the Surat Pemesanan Kendaraan (SPK) Form. Acumatica was implemented within 3 months. Since using Acumatica, the company has experienced greater efficiency in their approval process.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
