About The Customer
Biopelle is an innovative skin care company in aesthetic medicine. The company sells rejuvenation and wellness skin care products to doctors, medical clinics, and spas. Founded in 2005 as a division of Ferndale Pharma Group Inc., Biopelle offers a portfolio of skin care technologies including growth factors, retinols, brighteners, exfoliators, and customizable skin care programs. The company is located in Ferndale, Michigan and operates in the healthcare industry. Biopelle's philosophy includes offering superior customer service and the company is always looking for ways to operate more efficiently.
The Challenge
Biopelle, a skin care company, was using SagePro 100 for its operations. However, the production planning and forecasting in Sage was manual and tedious. The finance director had to manually enter data into Excel and create reports for the Operations Director. Creating a bill of materials was also a challenge as Sage pulled inventory from the wrong places and created negative balances. The outside sales team used Act!, which was slow to access data in the field. Without integration to the ERP data, the reps lacked valuable information when selling. To get needed information, reps had to contact the home office and request updates on their orders. Multiple reports were created in Excel and Adobe and emailed on a daily basis to keep the reps current. When Sage informed Biopelle that they would no longer be supporting SagePro 100, the company started looking for an ERP to fit all of Biopelle’s needs.
The Solution
Biopelle decided to switch from SagePro 100 to Acumatica. The company purchased Acumatica’s Financial Management, Customer Management, and Distribution Management Suites on a perpetual license, hosted on-premises. Acumatica Partner SBS Group helped Biopelle set up the software. The software was set up in a way that everyone could use it in exactly the way that they needed. Acumatica allowed the sales reps to connect at any time and access data within the permission levels they had been granted. They could see which customers ordered in the past and get reports. With access to CRM, they could see notes and activities entered by the customer service team. Acumatica’s sub account structure allowed Biopelle to populate fields with custom information and gain insights they couldn’t before.
