Westfälische Provinzial Versicherung AG, headquartered in Münster, is a leading property and casualty insurer and part of the Provinzial NordWest Group. The company serves 1.8 million customers, including private individuals, commercial and industrial companies, institutions, and farmers. As part of the second-largest public insurance group in Germany, Westfälische Provinzial prides itself on its customer service motto, 'always there, always close.' The company benefits from the support of the wider Provinzial NordWest Group, which employs over 3,000 people and extends to approximately 10,000 employees across local insurance agencies.
挑战
The IT department of Westfälische Provinzial aimed to improve IT reporting by consolidating five different reporting solutions into a single web-based tool. They needed a powerful yet simple reporting tool for their 450 employees. The primary challenge was to map out key technical requirements and operational processes for the new solution. The existing solution, BMC’s IT service management tools, restricted access to only one data source, which was a limitation. The IT team also considered other embedded analytics software but found Yellowfin to be the most suitable due to its ability to access multiple data sources and its strong local presence in Germany.

Yellowfin was integrated into existing applications, allowing access to relevant reports directly from dashboards without switching platforms. The software optimized IT service management processes, ensuring that employees in various roles received direct access to relevant reports, making their work easier.
