关于客户
Premier Foods is one of the UK's leading food businesses, known for its beloved brands found in 93% of British households. With over 4,000 employees and operations across 15 locations in the UK, the company has a significant presence in the food industry. Premier Foods relies on extensive data analytics to manage various functions, including supply chain, commercial activities, and sustainability efforts. The company processes an impressive 25 million records daily, necessitating a robust and efficient data analytics system. Premier Foods' commitment to innovation and efficiency drives its continuous search for advanced technological solutions to enhance its operations and meet regulatory requirements.
挑战
Premier Foods faced significant challenges with its existing SAP-based data analytics system, which relied heavily on spreadsheet-based reporting and outdated data warehousing. This system lacked external data integration capabilities and built-in data visualization, leading to manual, offline reporting and limited business intelligence (BI). The need for more flexible data sourcing, faster processing, and more frequent reporting was critical. Additionally, compliance with the recent Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) legislation in the UK required integrating data sets that the current system could not support. These limitations directly impacted business efficiency and productivity, prompting Premier Foods to seek a more advanced solution.
解决方案
Premier Foods turned to AWS Partner Pyramid Analytics to address its data analytics challenges. Pyramid Analytics offers a decision intelligence platform that combines data preparation, business analytics, and data science within a single platform. This platform features a super-fast direct query engine and an AI-guided self-service experience, enabling non-technical users to gain insights quickly. The new system needed to connect with SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW) to access transaction data and integrate with Amazon RedShift for reporting on non-transactional data from multiple sources. Amazon S3 was used for data storage, while Amazon CodeCommit managed the code in Matillion, the ETL tool. Pyramid Analytics facilitated reporting on data from both SAP BW and RedShift, with Amazon Cloud Watch providing monitoring alerts. The implementation involved close collaboration between Pyramid's team and Premier Foods' team during the Proof of Concept (POC) stage, ensuring robust connections between tools and data sources. Recommendations on server sizing and environment structuring helped Premier Foods successfully deploy the new solution.

HEINEKEN Uses the Cloud to Reach 10.5 Million Consumers
For 2012 campaign, the Bond promotion, it planned to launch the campaign at the same time everywhere on the planet. That created unprecedented challenges for HEINEKEN—nowhere more so than in its technology operation. The primary digital content for the campaign was a 100-megabyte movie that had to play flawlessly for millions of viewers worldwide. After all, Bond never fails. No one was going to tolerate a technology failure that might bruise his brand.Previously, HEINEKEN had supported digital media at its outsourced datacenter. But that datacenter lacked the computing resources HEINEKEN needed, and building them—especially to support peak traffic that would total millions of simultaneous hits—would have been both time-consuming and expensive. Nor would it have provided the geographic reach that HEINEKEN needed to minimize latency worldwide.
