关于客户
Oxiteno is a Brazilian chemical company that operates worldwide. Founded in 1970, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ultra Group. Oxiteno has an installed production capacity of about two million tons per year and is the largest surfactant producer in Latin America. The company is also a leading manufacturer of chemicals. Their products include integration of raw materials, ethylene oxide and natural fatty alcohols, in addition to other specialty chemicals. Oxiteno aims to envision business opportunities and develop solutions for the sustainable evolution of society and the world.
挑战
Oxiteno, a leading manufacturer of surfactants and chemicals, needed a plant-wide model to evaluate options that could increase plant capacity and quickly and accurately respond to market demand. With constant fluctuations in feedstock and energy prices, reacting to economic changes quickly was vital to capitalize on the most profitable assets. In the past, unit operations were modeled separately and case studies could not be analyzed quickly and accurately. It was very difficult to increase plant throughput by evaluating individual pieces of equipment without the ability to examine the effect of changing process variables on downstream processes.
解决方案
Oxiteno used the aspenONE Engineering suite to build a plant-wide model of an ethanolamines plant using Aspen Plus and Aspen Simulation Workbook (ASW). The model was matched to plant data, which supported capacity increase with accuracy. Existing equipment models were combined onto a single flowsheet and the three main sections of the plant (reaction, ammonia recovery, drying and purification) were successfully integrated into a single simulation. The use of Aspen Economic Evaluation is currently being explored to benefit process optimization systems and project feasibility evaluation. Aspen Plus and ASW gave Oxiteno the agility they needed to keep pace with demand and production requirements.

Honeywell - Tata Chemicals Improves Data Accessibility with OneWireless
Tata was facing data accessibility challenges in the cement plant control room tapping signals from remote process control areas and other distant locations, including the gas scrubber. Tata needed a wireless solution to extend its control network securely to remote locations that would also provide seamless communication with existing control applications.

Advanced Elastomer Systems Upgrades Production
In order to maintain its share of the international market for thermoplastic elastomers AES recently expanded its Florida plant by adding a new production line. While the existing lines were operating satisfactorily using a PROVOX distributed control system with traditional analog I/O, AES wanted advanced technology on the new line for greater economy, efficiency, and reliability. AES officials were anxious to get this line into production to meet incoming orders, but two hurricanes slowed construction.

Field Device Asset Management For Chemical Company in China
Chinese chemical subsidiary of multinational corporation serves customers throughout the world. Sales offices and research and technology centers are strategically located to provide rapid response to customer requests. Just two workers were assigned to maintain thousands of intelligent instruments in three production units, so they could do little more than react to device issues as they appeared. This costly maintenance method inevitably led to unexpected downtime when a critical instrument failed. Plant management recognized the need to change from reactive to predictive maintenance for all assets, including instruments and control valves, but help was needed in implementing such a technology-based initiative.

Industrial Workforce Mobility for Improved Safety & Operations
Huntsman Corporation, a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals, undertook an aggressive program to eliminate injuries, product defects, and environmental releases at their Port Neches facility. Termed “Project Zero”, this program required a completely mobile solution to empower operations and maintenance personnel to capture defects, track work progress and make process and safety related decisions in real-time.
