关于客户
Pioneer Natural Resources Company is an $8 billion natural exploration and production company with operations in the United States, South Africa, and Tunisia. The company is focused on delivering competitive and sustainable results as they responsibly produce oil and natural gas to help meet the world’s energy demands. Their team of business users and geologists rely heavily on Pioneer’s submittal application, which captures exploration, business development opportunities, and submittals for evaluation. The company aims to modernize its IT infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce costs, while maintaining a high level of data security and user satisfaction.
挑战
Pioneer Natural Resources Company faced significant challenges with their existing Exploration & Business Development Submittal application. The original application, built over five years ago using legacy systems, was expensive to maintain and required specialized skills only available through external contractors. Additionally, the company had separate applications for exploration submittals and business development, each with its own database (Oracle and SQL Server), and only one had offline capability. This fragmentation led to inefficiencies and increased costs. To address these issues, Pioneer decided to undertake a modernization project to replace the two separate submittal applications with a single web-based application and a common database. The goal was to create a new Pioneer Submittal application that could be maintained by in-house staff, thereby reducing costs and increasing IT responsiveness.
解决方案
Pioneer Natural Resources Company partnered with WaveMaker professional services to modernize their submittal application. Using an Agile development process, WaveMaker worked closely with Pioneer IT and end users to evaluate business requirements. With each iterative release, generally spaced at 2 to 4 weeks, business users had the opportunity to test new functionality and refine their requirements. The new application was designed to be web-based, combining the functionalities of the two previous applications into one. WaveMaker's support for HTML and CSS made it easy to create a visually appealing user interface that met Pioneer’s requested look and feel. The master and subpage architecture of the new application allows each page to exist separately and then be assembled into the larger application, making maintenance less complicated. The new application also includes improved security features, allowing Pioneer personnel to see only the records available in their division and mark records as private. IT could assign permissions based on position, further enhancing data security.

Taking Oil and Gas Exploration to the Next Level
DownUnder GeoSolutions (DUG) wanted to increase computing performance by 5 to 10 times to improve seismic processing. The solution must build on current architecture software investments without sacrificing existing software and scale computing without scaling IT infrastructure costs.

Remote Wellhead Monitoring
Each wellhead was equipped with various sensors and meters that needed to be monitored and controlled from a central HMI, often miles away from the assets in the field. Redundant solar and wind generators were installed at each wellhead to support the electrical needs of the pumpstations, temperature meters, cameras, and cellular modules. In addition to asset management and remote control capabilities, data logging for remote surveillance and alarm notifications was a key demand from the customer. Terra Ferma’s solution needed to be power efficient, reliable, and capable of supporting high-bandwidth data-feeds. They needed a multi-link cellular connection to a central server that sustained reliable and redundant monitoring and control of flow meters, temperature sensors, power supply, and event-logging; including video and image files. This open-standard network needed to interface with the existing SCADA and proprietary network management software.

Refinery Saves Over $700,000 with Smart Wireless
One of the largest petroleum refineries in the world is equipped to refine various types of crude oil and manufacture various grades of fuel from motor gasoline to Aviation Turbine Fuel. Due to wear and tear, eight hydrogen valves in each refinery were leaking, and each cost $1800 per ton of hydrogen vented. The plant also had leakage on nearly 30 flare control hydrocarbon valves. The refinery wanted a continuous, online monitoring system that could catch leaks early, minimize hydrogen and hydrocarbon production losses, and improve safety for maintenance.
