关于客户
Michelman, Inc. is a global manufacturer of chemicals and coatings, founded in 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company has expanded to five locations worldwide and continues to grow its customer base. Michelman specializes in producing value-added, ready-made, and custom formulations for various applications, including paints, waxes, floor polishes, and corrugated cardboard. The company's strong capabilities in research and development, coupled with leading-edge technology, have positioned it for continual business growth.
挑战
Michelman faced significant challenges with their outdated inventory movement processes, which led to considerable lag time between inventory movement and system updates. The lack of real-time visibility resulted in inventory shortages and over-stocking, hampering operational efficiency and business growth. In 2010, Michelman decided to overhaul their supply-chain technology by implementing JD Edwards 9.0 and RF-SMART automated data collection (ADC). They needed a solution that could seamlessly integrate with JD Edwards to enhance inventory efficiency and visibility.
解决方案
Michelman implemented RF-SMART automated data collection (ADC) alongside JD Edwards 9.0 to address their inventory management challenges. RF-SMART's barcoding functionality allowed end-users to scan product information for various inventory transactions, such as picking, putaway, inventory transfer, work order material issues, and completions. This real-time data collection eliminated inventory status lag-time and improved batch accuracy. The solution also streamlined customer returns and enhanced customer service by providing real-time updates on work order completions and ship confirmations. Additionally, RF-SMART enabled Michelman to grow their business without increasing their workforce, thanks to the significant labor hour savings and improved operational efficiency.

Advanced Elastomer Systems Upgrades Production
In order to maintain its share of the international market for thermoplastic elastomers AES recently expanded its Florida plant by adding a new production line. While the existing lines were operating satisfactorily using a PROVOX distributed control system with traditional analog I/O, AES wanted advanced technology on the new line for greater economy, efficiency, and reliability. AES officials were anxious to get this line into production to meet incoming orders, but two hurricanes slowed construction.

Field Device Asset Management For Chemical Company in China
Chinese chemical subsidiary of multinational corporation serves customers throughout the world. Sales offices and research and technology centers are strategically located to provide rapid response to customer requests. Just two workers were assigned to maintain thousands of intelligent instruments in three production units, so they could do little more than react to device issues as they appeared. This costly maintenance method inevitably led to unexpected downtime when a critical instrument failed. Plant management recognized the need to change from reactive to predictive maintenance for all assets, including instruments and control valves, but help was needed in implementing such a technology-based initiative.
