关于客户
Mid-South Steel Products, Inc. is a Missouri-based manufacturer specializing in large fuel tanks and petroleum equipment. With over 50 years of experience, the company serves customers across the United States with a complete line of above-ground and underground steel storage tanks. Employing more than 50 people, Mid-South Steel manages global purchase orders, payment information, and various internal operations through its IT network. The company’s IT infrastructure supports field employees by providing access to permits, installation records, product specifications, diagrams, and blueprints. Internally, the IT system houses payroll, employment records, intellectual property, and patents.
挑战
Mid-South Steel Products, Inc. faced significant challenges in managing their IT security. With a small IT department, they needed a solution that was easy to implement and manage without sacrificing security. Their existing Symantec antivirus system was difficult to manage and left them feeling vulnerable to malware and other IT threats. Traditional antivirus systems, which rely on blacklists of known bad files, were not sufficient to cope with the volume and sophistication of modern threats. Mid-South Steel needed a new security partner to protect their IT environment from these evolving threats.
解决方案
Mid-South Steel turned to Comodo for their endpoint protection and containment technology. Comodo’s threat containment solutions provide total protection against zero-day threats without impacting the end-user experience. Untrusted processes and applications are automatically isolated in a secure environment, allowing safe applications to run freely while denying malware the system access needed to deliver their payloads. Comodo’s Endpoint Security Management (ESM) software suite offers five layers of defense: antivirus, firewall, host intrusion prevention, automatic containment, and file reputation. The real-time automatic containment technology ensures that any untrusted processes are run in an isolated environment, preventing malware outbreaks and operating system contamination. The IT team at Mid-South Steel uses the Comodo ESM dashboard for comprehensive insight and control over all aspects of endpoint protection and management. The interface displays 14 critical metrics about each endpoint, facilitating rapid alerting and remediation of issues, thus keeping the network data secure.

Taking Oil and Gas Exploration to the Next Level
DownUnder GeoSolutions (DUG) wanted to increase computing performance by 5 to 10 times to improve seismic processing. The solution must build on current architecture software investments without sacrificing existing software and scale computing without scaling IT infrastructure costs.

Remote Wellhead Monitoring
Each wellhead was equipped with various sensors and meters that needed to be monitored and controlled from a central HMI, often miles away from the assets in the field. Redundant solar and wind generators were installed at each wellhead to support the electrical needs of the pumpstations, temperature meters, cameras, and cellular modules. In addition to asset management and remote control capabilities, data logging for remote surveillance and alarm notifications was a key demand from the customer. Terra Ferma’s solution needed to be power efficient, reliable, and capable of supporting high-bandwidth data-feeds. They needed a multi-link cellular connection to a central server that sustained reliable and redundant monitoring and control of flow meters, temperature sensors, power supply, and event-logging; including video and image files. This open-standard network needed to interface with the existing SCADA and proprietary network management software.

Refinery Saves Over $700,000 with Smart Wireless
One of the largest petroleum refineries in the world is equipped to refine various types of crude oil and manufacture various grades of fuel from motor gasoline to Aviation Turbine Fuel. Due to wear and tear, eight hydrogen valves in each refinery were leaking, and each cost $1800 per ton of hydrogen vented. The plant also had leakage on nearly 30 flare control hydrocarbon valves. The refinery wanted a continuous, online monitoring system that could catch leaks early, minimize hydrogen and hydrocarbon production losses, and improve safety for maintenance.
