关于客户
Lipari Foods is a regional wholesale food distributor managing a wide range of quality deli, bakery, packaging, seafood, dairy, confections, grocery, food service, and “grab-and-go” products in 12 states in the Midwest and surrounding areas. Headquartered in Warren, Michigan, the company serves up to 5,000 customer locations through 28 depots. Approximately 1,000 employees support Lipari’s continually expanding network of accounts. Companies in the food industry exist in a highly competitive and dynamic environment where the health of the business can change daily. These organizations need to constantly monitor operations to stay efficient.
挑战
Lipari Foods, a regional wholesale food distributor, was in need of a self-reporting tool that would provide employees and customers better access to transactional data. The company wanted a self-service BI environment that could provide visibility into every step of a process. Prior to purchasing Information Builders WebFOCUS business intelligence (BI) platform, Lipari’s reporting practices consisted of manual, “one-off” processes in which an IT professional created a specific report in response to a specific business request. Lacking a consistent enterprise strategy, the IT department found itself producing hundreds of unique reports. A massive amount of transactional data was available, but the company lacked self-service reporting tools that would let non-technical workers access, sort, summarize, filter, and visualize the data.
解决方案
Lipari Foods implemented a cohesive enterprise-reporting environment to deliver real-time information and alerts through interactive reports and analytic dashboards – on computers, tablets, and smartphones. The company used Information Builders' WebFOCUS, Maintain, Mobile, Professional Services, Developer Studio, InfoAssist, ReportCaster, Active Reports, Portal, PMF, iWay DataMigrator, and Education. The solution provided a series of exception-based reports that flag anomalies at the start of each day so that buyers, merchandise managers, and shipping personnel can investigate them. WebFOCUS Maintain lets users both read and write to the database, making it easy to set up new items, to make adjustments, and to enter vendor-pricing changes.
运营影响
  • WebFOCUS simplifies Lipari’s corporate mergers and acquisitions strategy since it can easily adapt to many types of data and applications.
  • WebFOCUS can transpose many types of data into a common format, and it doesn’t choke on large data sets or introduce latency during real-time reporting processes.
  • WebFOCUS facilitates instant information delivery via computers, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Sales managers can pull up sales reports by product, region, or salesperson. WebFOCUS lets them drill into the data to study results or review performance for the prior day or week.
