Prior to implementing Oracle SCM Cloud, FairfieldNodal was using various systems to run their business, including a manufacturing execution system (MES), but most of their inventory management processes were paper-based. Knowing it would be more cost-productive to consolidate systems to one platform (and that they wanted to move to the Cloud), the FairfieldNodal team chose Oracle SCM Cloud as their ERP solution. Based on the recommendation of their implementation partner and findings on the Oracle Marketplace, FairfieldNodal implemented RF-SMART for inventory management.

FairfieldNodal implemented Oracle SCM Cloud as their ERP solution and RF-SMART for inventory management. RF-SMART works directly with Oracle, eliminating concerns about managing another system. FairfieldNodal uses RF-SMART for inventory management in their stock room, handling transactions such as Receiving and Putaway. The system scans receipts, distributes them to the appropriate rack and bin, and prints the appropriate label, all while seamlessly integrating with Oracle SCM Cloud. The simple and intuitive interface minimized the number of data capture fields, resulting in streamlined transaction times.

Errors associated with paper-processes have been eliminated, and workers are no longer doing double the work by entering manual data into a PC hours later.
Real-time information is crucial because FairfieldNodal batch builds, so knowing when and how many finished goods will come off the line is essential.
Cycle counts are much faster with RF-SMART, by as much as 50%. Now they are updated and validated immediately.
Inventory accuracy has significantly improved, eliminating over-issuing to stock and over-ordering items.
RF-SMART is easier to train and administer than other systems FairfieldNodal has used in the past.
