The challenge was to find a solution that could provide real-time insights into the chiller's condition and help optimize its usage to extend its lifespan.

Deschutes Brewery partnered with Samsara to deploy power and vibration monitoring solutions for their existing chiller. By using Samsara's real-time data transmission capabilities, the brewery was able to monitor the chiller's health through stable vibration readings and power usage data. This real-time monitoring provided actionable insights that allowed Deschutes to defer the purchase of a redundant chiller for two years. Additionally, Samsara's alerts and notifications system ensured that the maintenance team would be promptly informed of any early indicators of failure, enabling quick responses to minimize downtime. The ease of installation and integration of Samsara's Industrial Gateway, which communicated directly with the chiller's PLC and the plant historian via an open API, was a significant factor in the decision to partner with Samsara.
