Maison Manival is a traditional French bakery located in the heart of the French Alps. The bakery was founded by Stéphan Massonat, an entrepreneur who returned to Grenoble to reconnect with his country’s traditions. French artisanal bakeries are respected worldwide for their traditional craftsmanship. To uphold their high standards, bakers dedicate long hours to creating consistently perfect breads and pastries. As part of mastering the art of baking, those in the trade must also ensure their tools remain in good working order, including electrical equipment. Modern bakeries rely heavily on ovens and refrigerators, so any electrical failure spells trouble.

Maison Manival, a traditional French bakery located in the heart of the French Alps, was facing the challenge of maintaining the high standards of traditional craftsmanship while ensuring the smooth operation of their modern tools and equipment. The bakery heavily relies on electrical equipment such as ovens and refrigerators. Any electrical failure, such as an overnight power cut to a fridge full of fresh ingredients or baked goods, could result in considerable loss. The founder of Maison Manival wanted to create an efficient environment where artisan bakers could work with greater peace of mind and efficiency. The challenge was to introduce innovation while preserving the tradition of French bakeries.

Maison Manival implemented Schneider Electric Facility Expert – Small Business for round-the-clock monitoring of all its electrical equipment, from ovens and freezers in the kitchen to lights in the front store. The latest innovation in connected switchboards, Facility Expert – Small Business is a cloud-based solution with secure remote access. Whether on — or off-site, the staff can check on equipment status using an app for smartphones and tablets. In the event of an equipment failure or an alarm, during or after business hours, Facility Expert – Small Business instantly informs Maison Manival’s manager via the app. This means the manager can promptly call in assistance or remotely resolve the issue, ensuring the bakery functions smoothly even when no staff is on-site.
