IoT GUIDE

Overview

There is no one platform to fulfil all needs for IoT/IIoT. Platform usability and simplicity is one key point to develop your own application fulfilling your needs in fast and effective manner, the other key point is the connectivity. In Industrial world there is no such thing as a common protocol - some are more used, some less.

Choosing the Correct Platform

If you are in search for solutions able to deliver information from shop floor sensors, PLC's and other controllers or SCADA systems up to User Interface/Application of IoT platform showing on the screens of user PCs or Augmented Reality experience on your mobile device. Kepware's OPC server KepServerEX has an ability to communicate with over 150 Industrial communication protocols (on EDGE side) and also directly be connected to ThingWorx IoT platform (on premises or in Cloud) by binary binding.

Even if you have chosen the correct platform, it doesn’t mean that your implementation will have positive effect on your business – there is a great need to harness right team of people with not only technical application knowledge (from Internet technologies as well as Industrial networks), but also understanding of business processes, data analysis, vision and many other aspects (based on Industry), able to move people to achieve positive and long lasting outcome.

Don’t forget, IoT implementation could be the biggest change for your business that your company has ever overcome (and I mean it positively) or another insignificant (or significant) tool helping you to work more efficiently.
