Jesse Owsley, the Software Project Manager, identified the need to prevent check fraud through positive pay implementation.
The Challenge
Southern Supply, a group of distribution and manufacturing companies, faced significant challenges in preventing check fraud. The company needed to implement positive pay to match checks issued with those presented for payment across various business units. However, there was no practical manual strategy for activating positive pay, leading to delayed payment processing. The company required a streamlined solution to protect against fraudulent activity and ensure timely payments.
The Solution
Southern Supply utilized Informer to automate the process of submitting required check information to banks. The setup took less than a couple of hours for multiple business units running different ERPs. Informer, being ERP-agnostic, allowed the same solution to be used across multiple platforms. The automation was achieved through features like scheduling Jobs to send emails or FTPs to any address and aggregating payment amounts by check number. Informer’s ability to connect to various databases facilitated the process, making it efficient and cost-effective.
