The Challenge
Don Pearson, a veteran in the estimating and operations field, started Tenex Contractors in early 2021. He had been using B2W Estimate for nearly two decades, during which he was able to produce up to 1,200 bids a year as chief estimator for a $200 million company. As he started Tenex, he faced the challenge of maintaining the same level of efficiency and accuracy in his bidding process. The Solution
To address the challenge, Pearson decided to continue using B2W Estimate, a heavy construction estimating software he had been using for close to two decades. B2W Software got Tenex up and running with Estimate within a week, an unusually quick start-up enabled by Pearson's previous experience. The software allows Pearson to work remotely and easily log in and access the software from anywhere. B2W Estimate offers features such as prepopulated cost databases and templates, an error check wizard to eliminate mistakes, and built-in capabilities for quickly analyzing, comparing, and incorporating bids from subcontractors and vendors. Pearson also uses B2W Estimate to duplicate bids, allowing the company to test alternate scenarios and explore different options to get to a price necessary to win.
