About The Customer
Founded in 1944, Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV) has a long tradition of excellence in teaching, research, innovation and consulting in Administration, Economics, Law and Social Sciences, as well as Applied Mathematics, as one of the world's top 10 think tanks. The class of 2017 included 5,012 undergraduate students, 1,787 Master's students, 485 doctoral students and 95,022 continuing education students, in addition to 415 completed studies and research projects, and 2,468 intellectual products from professors and researchers, among others.
The Challenge
FGV needed to store all of the documents that are sent by its schools and business units in order to manage this collection of documents and remain in compliance with directives from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The Solution
To meet this challenge, FGV adopted SoftExpert ECM, emphasizing the Documents, Physical File and Capture modules. The solution allowed for digitization of the permanent collection of academic documents; classification and indexing of an academic document in the system; identification of the physical file and time management; elimination of paper, replacing hard copies with images; and image recovery and manipulation.
Operational Impact
  • The solution allowed for digitization of the permanent collection of academic documents.
  • It enabled classification and indexing of academic documents in the system.
  • The system facilitated identification of the physical file and time management.
  • It led to the elimination of paper, replacing hard copies with images.
  • The solution supported image recovery and manipulation.
