About The Customer
Boscov’s is America’s largest family-owned department store chain in the Northeastern United States. Established in 1918, Boscov’s has built its reputation on great deals, friendly service, and community participation. The company has been working to develop their online shop to offer their goods to customers outside their 50 department stores. The executive team at Boscov’s is forward-thinking and constantly seeking scalable solutions that not only provide a comprehensive eCommerce solution but also a platform that would allow them the freedom they needed to expand.
The Challenge
Boscov’s, the largest family-owned department store chain in the Northeastern United States, was seeking to expand its online presence beyond its 50 physical department stores. After several years of working with a previous drop ship provider, the executive team decided to find a more scalable solution that would provide a comprehensive eCommerce solution and a platform that would allow them to expand. However, they found themselves stuck in a lengthy and confusing contract negotiation with another organization, losing valuable time. With a strict deadline in place, Boscov’s needed a brand-new drop ship program in under eight weeks.
The Solution
Boscov’s reached out to Logicbroker to discuss migrating in the middle of an already tedious eCommerce migration. Despite the time constraints, Logicbroker took up the challenge and in just 6 weeks, Boscov’s launched their master connection with the Logicbroker platform. Over 70% of Boscov’s 250 vendors were onboarded successfully, with the rest well underway. Logicbroker’s platform was able to match Boscov’s file format and contents, assuring the IT team that no new changes would be required. This allowed Boscov’s to connect their backend with Logicbroker’s API without losing or reformatting a single document.
Operational Impact
  • With the successful implementation of Logicbroker’s platform, Boscov’s now enjoys increased document transparency with their vendors and no longer has to worry about accurate inventory updates. They can internally inspect all aspects of their vendor’s performance, inventory, orders, and more without having to pay extra or go through mountains of paperwork. The switch to Logicbroker’s AS2 connection allowed Boscov’s to ditch their VAN provider and receive frequent vendor updates without unpredictable fees. The team no longer spends countless hours focused on failed orders or vendor implementation issues, allowing them to expand their vendor offerings at an even faster rate.
Quantitative Benefit
  • Over 70% of Boscov’s 250 vendors were onboarded successfully in just 6 weeks.
  • Switching from their VAN connection saves Boscov’s thousands of dollars in fees each month.
  • Logicbroker’s 99% uptime guarantees that vendor onboarding will be taken care of and any and all documentation updates will be pushed to the appropriate team members as any issues arise.
