About The Customer
anb is a leading bank in the Middle East, established by royal decree in 1979. It serves over two million customers, offering a comprehensive range of Retail, Commercial, and Investment banking services. The bank operates through a network of 136 branches, 10 sales centers, 83 remittance centers, 11 SME centers, and 4 corporate branches. However, in response to the increasing demand for digital services and the Saudi Government’s sustainability agenda, anb embarked on a digital transformation journey, investing in its digital channels to provide seamless, user-friendly digital experiences to its customers.
The Challenge
Established in 1979, anb is one of the largest banks in the Middle East, serving over two million customers with a comprehensive range of Retail, Commercial, and Investment banking services. Traditionally, the bank's customer experience involved face-to-face interaction via its numerous branches, sales centers, remittance centers, SME centers, and corporate branches. However, with the increasing demand for digital self-service and the Saudi Government’s sustainability agenda—“Saudi Vision 2030,” anb needed to invest in its digital channels. The bank needed to digitalize customer touchpoints to minimize the environmental impact caused by face-to-face banking and meet the increasing customer demand for digital services. The challenge was to speed up development, improve agility, deliver web and mobile applications, and enable continuous delivery.
The Solution
To accelerate its digital transformation, anb selected OutSystems, a low-code application development platform. The bank aimed to provide customers with seamless, user-friendly digital experiences on web and mobile platforms. Operational Impact

Over the past four years, the bank has used OutSystems to build all its digital systems, achieving award-winning results. The bank was able to launch a new digital loan origination process, a 100 percent digital mortgage approval process, and Saudi Market’s first SME digital loan application system. The bank also launched an award-winning mobile banking app, used by over one million customers. The Saudi Government selected anb to launch Aramco’s IPO, valued at 1.5 trillion dollars, and the bank delivered a digital platform to streamline the IPO subscription process. The bank also built its complete credit engine with OutSystems, customizing it to their needs and going live in just a month.
