SOM 的解决方案是将 Altair OptiStruct™ 纳入其设计工作流程。该软件使团队能够考虑项目中使用的材料，并致力于使用更少材料的设计，从而降低成本和环境足迹。从头开始，SOM 通过两阶段方法使用先进的优化技术改进了屋顶的结构设计。该团队首先使用 OptiStruct 拓扑优化通过应用载荷和约束来创建设计选项，生成初始的类似有机的最佳载荷路径。在第二阶段，他们使用梁优化来确定最佳的型钢类型。 OptiStruct 技术与 SOM 专业知识的结合使团队能够为最终设计创建最佳迭代。
