关于客户
Rumble Entertainment is a gaming company based in Redwood City, California. The company is dedicated to creating polished games and shared experiences that embrace the digital world. The team at Rumble Entertainment believes in a customer-led approach to delivering great games. Their upcoming slate of games for 2013 are free to play and available across a variety of browsers, mobile devices, and social networks. The company runs on AWS, with large server clusters scaling up and down to accommodate heavy usage by gamers from around the world. Most of their applications are written in Java.
挑战
Rumble Entertainment, a gaming company, was facing challenges in diagnosing performance issues in their applications. The company was using open source tools for monitoring their applications, but the process was inefficient and time-consuming. They lacked easy access to historical data and had limited error monitoring capabilities. The company considered developing an in-house tool for monitoring applications, but it would require significant time and resources, which they could not afford to spare. The company needed a solution that could provide real-time data in an easy-to-consume format and track application latency.
解决方案
Rumble Entertainment implemented New Relic, a software that became a critical part of their environment within just two months. New Relic was installed on every server to ensure flexibility and continuity of service. The software's user interface was a major differentiator, providing real-time data in an easy-to-consume format. New Relic also offered the ability to monitor application response time, a feature that was lacking in the open source tools Rumble Entertainment was previously using. The software aggregates data on the browser, the database, and the platform, making it easy to spot errors and plot them to when they occurred. New Relic also scales to aggregate statistics across a large cluster and retains that data for on-the-spot historical analysis.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
