挑战
LTE group faced significant challenges with their existing McAfee endpoint security solution, which failed to prevent a security breach that caused rolling downtime for 1,000 employees and several thousand students over two weeks. The breach disrupted Skype VoIP deployment, leading to poor quality of phone and video conversations and remote video-based training. Additionally, McAfee's peer-to-peer broadcasting caused network issues, and despite identifying the problem, McAfee couldn't resolve it. Dissatisfied with the breach and high number of threats missed by McAfee, LTE's IT team evaluated alternatives, including Sophos, Cylance, Microsoft Windows Defender, and Bitdefender solutions, ultimately selecting Bitdefender GravityZone.

LTE group implemented Bitdefender GravityZone to protect 6,000 Microsoft Windows and Apple workstations, with plans to extend coverage to an additional 4,000 workstations. Bitdefender also safeguards LTE group's 600 VMware ESXi virtual servers, 1,750 VMware Horizon View virtual desktops, 70 physical Windows and Linux servers, and 7,000 Microsoft Exchange mailboxes. The solution includes device control to block USB devices on both Windows and Mac endpoints, automated exceptions, and content filtering. GravityZone's seamless integration with VMware NSX enables agentless security, improving performance by running resource-intensive security tasks on a dedicated security server rather than individual virtual machines.
