The company operates with the philosophy that their success is tied to the success of their partners. They have decades of experience in the technology industry and have dealt with a wide range of challenges faced by their clients. One of their clients, Waldmann Lighting, is a manufacturer located in an industrial park. Waldmann Lighting shares a power grid with several neighboring companies, which are also manufacturers and use a significant amount of power. This client experienced a serious disaster that prompted RAD Solutions to move them from simple backup to a complete business continuity solution.

When manufacturer Waldmann Lighting shut down for the Christmas season in 2014, an unexpected electrical wave hit them, causing a power surge that completely destroyed their server. At the time, Waldmann Lighting was using Symantec for backup, but the majority of their backups were destroyed during the surge. This left them without the necessary business recovery capability to move forward. RAD Solutions had to painstakingly get Waldmann Lighting back to business, which highlighted the need for a more efficient and seamless process for their clients in the future. They realized that they needed more than just a backup system; they needed a comprehensive business continuity solution.

RAD Solutions partnered with Datto to offer their clients more timely recovery options. Specifically, they implemented the Datto SIRIS Enterprise to back up Waldmann Lighting’s server and personal workstations for the company’s 50 employees. The Datto SIRIS uses Inverse Chain Technology, which ensures that each backup is a fully bootable image and does not rely on previous backups. This technology allowed RAD Solutions to perform backups every fifteen minutes, providing a recent version of data in case of any issues. For instance, when a marketing manager at Waldmann Lighting experienced a workstation crash due to a malicious software infection, Milan Radinovic was able to remotely access her workstation, delete the infection, and recover the most recent version of her work within minutes. This quick recovery was possible because of the frequent backups performed by the Datto SIRIS.
