They turned to LinkedIn Groups to research and compare different software providers, leveraging the opinions and experiences of property managers across the U.S. Using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) system, they analyzed 4,000 entries from LinkedIn to identify the most recommended software. This extensive and time-consuming process revealed that AppFolio had the highest NPS, leading them to consider it as a top contender.

After identifying AppFolio as the top contender through LinkedIn Group analysis, First Service Residential Realty validated their choice by speaking with actual users of the software. They found that AppFolio Property Manager was easy to use, requiring minimal training for their 15-member team. The software's quick search functionality, similar to Google, significantly reduced the time spent on routine tasks. Processes like printing tenant ledgers and monthly owner statements became much more efficient, saving considerable time and effort. Additionally, the company started collecting rent online through AppFolio, which reduced labor-intensive tasks associated with handling paper checks. This transition to online rent collection was expected to cut labor by 20-30%, resulting in significant cost savings.

Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. Remote Wellhead Monitoring
Each wellhead was equipped with various sensors and meters that needed to be monitored and controlled from a central HMI, often miles away from the assets in the field. Redundant solar and wind generators were installed at each wellhead to support the electrical needs of the pumpstations, temperature meters, cameras, and cellular modules. In addition to asset management and remote control capabilities, data logging for remote surveillance and alarm notifications was a key demand from the customer. Terra Ferma’s solution needed to be power efficient, reliable, and capable of supporting high-bandwidth data-feeds. They needed a multi-link cellular connection to a central server that sustained reliable and redundant monitoring and control of flow meters, temperature sensors, power supply, and event-logging; including video and image files. This open-standard network needed to interface with the existing SCADA and proprietary network management software.
