With thousands of employees and numerous business operations, achieving transparency and efficiency was a significant hurdle. The company needed a solution to make processes transparent, identify potential areas of improvement, and reduce complexities. The goal was to streamline processes, reduce throughput times, cut costs, and increase customer satisfaction.

Siemens partnered with Celonis, a software company specializing in process mining technology, to address its process optimization challenges. The collaboration began in 2011 when Siemens' audit department engaged with Celonis to find a solution for making processes transparent and identifying areas for improvement. Siemens established an internal unit called Process DAsh (Data Analytics smart handling) to provide business managers with active support in optimizing global processes. Celonis Process Mining technology was used to analyze diverse business processes, from purchasing and ordering logistics to production, order handling, and customer delivery. The technology provided real-time insights into actual processes, enabling the identification of bottlenecks, manual procedures, and inefficiencies. This allowed Siemens to systematically improve process inefficiencies and achieve end-to-end process transparency.
