Miami-Dade County, with a population of 2.7 million, faced significant challenges with clogged roadways and declining public transit usage. The county's leaders were eager to find innovative solutions to keep residents moving efficiently and to revive the usage of public transit. Affordability and accessibility were key considerations in redefining transportation in Florida's most populous county. The goal was to create a system that could serve the diverse needs of the community, including those who require wheelchair-accessible rides and those who speak different languages.

In October 2020, Via partnered with Miami-Dade County Transit and local municipalities to launch GO Connect, an on-demand service designed to complement the existing transit infrastructure. GO Connect provides shared, first-and-last-mile rides to and from Metrorail Stations within designated service zones and along the TransitWay. The service initially launched in Dadeland and Cutler Bay and is set to expand into two additional zones, Civic Center and Palmetto Bay. The mobile application for GO Connect supports multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Creole, to cater to the diverse population of Miami-Dade County. Additionally, riders can book rides by phone, and wheelchair-accessible rides are readily available, ensuring that the service is inclusive and accessible to all residents.
