关于客户
Global Airfreight International (GAI) is one of ASEAN’s largest local freight forwarders, with over 600 employees spread across 9 countries and 16 offices, and a well-established global network. The 45-year-old forwarding company is based in Singapore and has an annual revenue exceeding USD $110 million dollars. Despite an air freight speciality, GAI can handle “any inquiry from any customer, providing a full logistics solution for any need,” according to Herbert Wong, the senior manager of business development. The Chairman of Global Airfreight International cites two key drivers of the company’s success: Very skilled personnel and Outstanding customer support.
挑战
Global Airfreight International (GAI) was facing a high cost of sale due to the time-consuming process of generating quotes for freight rates. The process involved manually looking up the right carrier and rate, typing out the quote in an Excel spreadsheet, and then emailing it to the agent or customer. This process could take up to an hour per quote and was prone to inaccuracies due to human error. GAI needed a system that could handle complex pricing levels across different clients and routes, provide faster and more accurate quotes, and reduce their cost of sale.
解决方案
GAI chose Freightos for its rate management and automated quoting capabilities. Freightos' big-data routing and pricing engine supports all tariffs – air, ocean, or land – and applies GAI’s pricing rules. The dynamic business intelligence suite offers each salesperson and manager a live dashboard of quoting activity. Since Freightos runs in the cloud, deployment required just a browser and an internet connection. Within three months, GAI had its sales team quoting with Freightos to both customers and agents. The roll-out was quick and painless, growing to nearly 1,000 quotes monthly rapidly.

Remote Temperature Monitoring of Perishable Goods Saves Money

Manual registration practice can be very costly, labor intensive and prone to mistakes.

Retail Uses RFID to Enable Cold Chain Monitoring
Like most grocery retailers, Hy-Vee is faced with the challenge of providing the highest quality products to its shoppers. Shoppers want the longest possible shelf life from perishable products and expect a consistent product experience each time they shop. Controlling the quality of products sold leads to shopper loyalty, which is of paramount importance to the success of Hy-Vee. Before products arrive in stores, Hy-Vee's distribution centers (DCs) handle items including dairy products, fresh meats, seafood, deli items, produce and frozen goods, all of which have different temperature needs and sensitivities. During transit from suppliers to DCs, Hy-Vee has limited visibility and temperature management abilities due to large amount of supplier managed transportation. For instance, during a week-long transit, a supplier's carrier equipment may malfunction, causing an item to thaw and then refreeze once repairs are made. Hy-Vee sought help from TempTRIP, an RFID solution provider that focuses on shipping, storage, receiving, and temperature control. TempTRIP's EPC RFID tags use Impinj chips to monitor and report temperature readings throughout the shipping and receiving process. The tags can also be re-configured and re-used, a unique feature within the current market of temperature monitoring devices.
