关于客户
Daniel Libeskind is a renowned architect who initially trained as a musical virtuoso before shifting his focus to architecture. He earned his architecture degree from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City and a postgraduate degree in History and Theory of Architecture at Essex University in England. Libeskind founded Studio Daniel Libeskind (SDL) in 1989 in Berlin, which later moved to New York City. The firm has created a wide variety of works, ranging from small- to large-scale projects, including public and private spaces, as well as projects with an information-technology focus. Libeskind's designs are known for their innovative and symbolic nature, often inspired by his love for the arts, philosophy, literature, and music.
挑战
Daniel Libeskind faced the challenge of transitioning from a musical prodigy to an architect, eventually establishing his own firm, Studio Daniel Libeskind (SDL). His first major design was realized at the age of 52, and he gained international prominence with the Jewish Museum in Berlin. The challenge was to create innovative and symbolic designs that communicate unique stories and reflect the cultural and historical context of their locations. Additionally, Libeskind had to manage the complexities of large-scale projects like the Westside Shopping and Leisure Center in Switzerland and the Grand Canal Square Theater in Dublin, ensuring they were not only functional but also emotionally and intellectually engaging for the public.
解决方案
Libeskind's approach to architecture involves creating designs that are both innovative and symbolic, often inspired by various forms of art and culture. For the Westside Shopping and Leisure Center in Switzerland, Libeskind conceived a design scheme called 'Nexus,' which operates as an independent city connected to the outside environment. The design includes 55 shops, 10 restaurants and bars, a bath, a hotel, a multiplex cinema, a senior residence, a wellness center, and several apartments. The project team used Vectorworks Architect software for design development and construction documentation, leveraging its intelligent BIM objects and reliable interface for exchanging models and data. For the Grand Canal Square Theater in Dublin, Libeskind extended the concept of theater beyond the building, creating multiple stages that build to a peak. The design includes a dramatic urban waterfront piazza, a multi-level lobby, and a 2,100-seat theater. The project also features 34,839 square meters of leasable office and retail space. The design team used 3D computer models and physical models created with a laser cutter to optimize the shapes and placements of the buildings.
