关于客户
Smith+Nephew is a global medical technology company that was established in 1856. The company designs and manufactures advanced medical devices and wound care products. Over the years, Smith+Nephew has grown to become one of the top 100 companies traded on the London Stock Exchange (FTSE-100). Today, the company has more than 15,000 employees worldwide. Smith+Nephew supports healthcare professionals in returning their patients to health and mobility, helping them to perform at their fullest potential.
挑战
Smith+Nephew, a leading medical technology company, was facing challenges with their aging GRC tool for SAP which needed to be upgraded or replaced in 2019. The existing SAP tool required manual work, making the management of user access within systems a laborious process. The team had to use Excel spreadsheets to check which roles had access, determine whether conflicts existed among them, create SOD reports, and decide how these conflicts should be mitigated. This manual process was time-consuming and inefficient, prompting the need for a more streamlined and automated solution.
解决方案
In 2019, Smith+Nephew decided to implement Fastpath Assure, choosing Fastpath’s Segregation of Duties module along with Access Reviews, Access Certifications, Audit Trail, Identity Manager, and SAP Code Checker. Fastpath set up a dedicated implementation team of security and audit professionals to assist in the implementation. Smith+Nephew has focused much of their attention on using Fastpath’s Segregation of Duties (SOD) reporting and emergency access management for multiple connected systems. The dedicated aspect of Fastpath delivers these capabilities and positive results for SAP and provides a path for additional applications as well.
运营影响
  • With the implementation of Fastpath tools, the manual processes were essentially eliminated.
  • Smith+Nephew now has a foundation for this approach across not only SAP but additional applications as well.
数量效益
  • Fastpath has reduced the time required for managing user access by 50 hours per month.
