When people think of the biggest challenge of cloud computing, security is always the first thing that comes into our mind. However, is this true in 2016 landscape?
According to RightScale 2016 State of the Cloud Report, after surveying more than 1000 IT experts, the percentage cited for lack of resources/expertise increased from 27% last year to 32% this year to supplant security as the largest concern. As more organizations are placing more workloads in the cloud, the need for expertise has grown. Additional training of IT and development staff will be critical to helping address this challenge.
Increasing cloud cost management is also an emerging cloud computing challenge. 26% of respondents identify cloud cost management as a significant challenge in 2016, a steady increase each year from 18% in 2013.
