The company provides cloud-based security services to a wide range of organizations, from small businesses and government agencies to large enterprises. The core offerings of WeCloud include antispam, email archiving, and virus filtering solutions. The company was looking to extend its services beyond Scandinavia to a global customer base, which required a reliable cloud hosting provider with a global data center presence.
The Challenge
WeCloud AB, a Sweden-based company providing cloud-based security services, was looking to extend its services beyond Scandinavia to customers worldwide. The company's core offerings include antispam, email archiving, and virus filtering solutions. To achieve this global reach, WeCloud needed a trusted cloud hosting provider with a global data center presence. The company evaluated several options, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
The Solution
After evaluating several options, WeCloud chose SoftLayer infrastructure for its flexibility and hosting locations. SoftLayer, an IBM company, provides cloud infrastructure as a service from data centers and network points of presence worldwide. WeCloud provisioned virtual servers in SoftLayer data centers in Europe and the United States to begin serving customers in new international markets. The decision to choose SoftLayer was also influenced by the brand's reputation in hosting and infrastructure, which gave WeCloud's customers peace of mind.
