The Challenge
VimpelCom, one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunication operators, was facing an escalating number of network attacks. As one of the largest Internet service providers and business entities in Russia, the company was witnessing a surge in DDoS attacks. Legacy defense systems were not only failing to prevent these attacks, but often became the target themselves. The company needed a solution that could provide full automatic protection against these attacks in seconds.
The Solution
VimpelCom Group and Radware’s joint service – “Protection from DDoS attacks” – is based on Radware’s Attack Mitigation Solution (AMS), a real-time network and application security solution. This solution provides the shortest time to protection and the widest attack coverage, including mitigation of volumetric network attacks with no SLA degradation. The service also offers 24/7 support. Compared to other legacy defense systems, this joint service provides a more robust and efficient solution to DDoS attacks.
