Magazine and global firms Deloitte and Ernst & Young as one of the fastest-growing organizations. The TicketNetwork® Online Exchange is used by thousands of ticket sellers who offer more than 7 million tickets every day. This includes fans with extra tickets to sell and full-scale ticket brokerage companies. The company is a Level 1 Service Provider, processing a high volume of credit card transactions, making security and PCI compliance a top priority.
The Challenge
TicketNetwork, a rapidly growing online ticket exchange platform, faced significant security challenges due to the nature of its business. The company, which facilitates transactions for third-party ticket sellers and buyers, is a prime target for hackers due to the high volume of credit card transactions it processes. As a Level 1 Service Provider, maintaining PCI compliance was a major corporate initiative for TicketNetwork. Despite not having experienced any data breaches, the company was keen to ensure that its security measures were robust and effective. Additionally, the company needed a solution that could handle massive traffic, block malicious IP addresses, and be deployed quickly for immediate compliance and security.
The Solution
To address its security challenges, TicketNetwork deployed Imperva’s SecureSphere Web Application Firewall (WAF). This solution provided total visibility into data access and usage, and its user-friendly interface allowed for granular policy creation and enforcement to prevent unauthorized access or changes to data. SecureSphere was also able to scale to protect a high volume of transactions and block traffic from bots and other automated attacks. The solution was part of a secure development lifecycle strategy, where developers used code analysis on the desktop and the compiled code underwent a pen test. SecureSphere served as the final layer of this strategy, providing continuous protection for all applications, both old and new.
