About The Customer
The customer is one of the largest carrier service providers (CSPs) in North America. They have been investing in multiple vendors and their separate service assurance products for years. Each of these vendors provides a partial view of the network, but complete end-to-end visibility is absent. The carrier has been spending millions each year on service assurance products alone. It has become a heavy burden to the CSP on both CAPEX and OPEX to expand, maintain and operate the disparate products from these many vendors.
The Challenge
One of the largest carrier service providers (CSPs) in North America has been investing in multiple vendors and their separate service assurance products for years. The CSP made the strategic decision to consolidate vendors for service assurance products in order to reduce CAPEX and OPEX. They needed one single solution for their complex network that delivers end-to-end visibility and improved Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
The Solution
The solution provided by NETSCOUT involved the use of their nGeniusONE® service assurance platform. This platform delivers the most comprehensive end-to-end visibility on the most complex of networks. It is the only service assurance solution in the market that encompasses RAN, Core, and IMS monitoring - with integrated Packet Flow Switch (PFS) and business analytics capabilities. The InfiniStreamNG™ COTS probes leverage Adaptive Service Intelligence™ (ASI) technology to deliver pervasive visibility and Smart Data across the complete service delivery chain cost-effectively. The nGeniusONE service triage workflow, with an effective drill-down troubleshooting path from sessions to packets, reduces OPEX by enabling Operations Teams to quickly identify the problem and pinpoint the root cause of the problem.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
