About The Customer
Türk Telekom is Turkey's leading telecommunications and convergence technologies group, offering integrated telecommunications services ranging from the public phone network to GSM and broadband Internet. With more than 15.6 million fixed access lines, over 6.7 million ADSL connections, and 12.2 million mobile phone users, Türk Telekom provides a comprehensive range of telecommunications services for both commercial and residential clients. The company is committed to maintaining its market leadership and ensuring future profitability through innovative solutions and efficient operations.
The Challenge
To maintain its dominant market share and position itself for the future and continued profitability, Türk Telekom embarked on a major facilities management software project to reduce costs in building operations and facility asset utilization. The project, started in November 2010, aimed to raise efficiency, modernize, and ensure transparency of its operations by streamlining business processes. The company needed to generate detailed reports for strategic decisions, plan and execute equipment, furniture, and asset moves efficiently, track location and depreciation of assets, and provide fully automated room and facilities reservations.
The Solution
ARCHIBUS Solution Center-Romania (ASC-Romania) won the tender to implement an integrated solution tailored to Türk Telekom's needs. The solution included Real Estate Portfolio Management, Space Management, Overlay with Design Management for AutoCAD, Furniture & Equipment Management, Preventive Maintenance, On Demand Work, and Move Management. The project was divided into three phases, starting with a pilot project to implement key ARCHIBUS applications. The first phase demonstrated the efficiency of the ARCHIBUS integrated system, reducing infrastructure management costs and enabling effective management of property, facilities, and equipment. Subsequent phases involved adjusting applications to meet Türk Telekom's demands and integrating ARCHIBUS applications with existing ERP systems like SAP and Active Directory.
