During their search for a solution, they suffered a major DoS attack that affected their entire clientele. This situation prompted them to test Cloudflare's service across hundreds of their client's websites.
The Solution
ShoppingCartElite.com found Cloudflare in early 2011 and began considering the service as a potential solution to their web performance, security, and SSL needs. After suffering a major DoS attack, they decided to test Cloudflare's service across all of their client's websites. The results were impressive. Cloudflare offloaded server resources by about 30%, saving the company a significant amount of time and money. With the Cloudflare CDN, every image was automatically cached and served, making their sites almost 40% faster across the board. Each byte load was cut by half a second. Cloudflare also allowed ShoppingCartElite.com to give each customer standalone SSL. With Cloudflare SSL, they didn't need to install SSL certificates on their servers because it worked at the DNS level.
