The Challenge
Savoury Systems International, Inc., a rapidly growing food manufacturer, was facing challenges with inventory management and forecasting. The company was often overstocking to protect against stock outs, which proved to be costly and wasteful. As the company grew, the spreadsheets they were using to manage forecasting and replenishment tasks became more unwieldy and ineffective. The company was in need of a comprehensive solution that could handle their quote-to-cash integrated fulfillment system.
The Solution
Savoury Systems adopted Sage ERP X3 as its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The company also implemented Sage Inventory Advisor, a cloud-based inventory diagnostic, forecasting, and management tool that tightly integrates with Sage ERP X3. This provided the company with the tools needed to balance stock levels to meet demand without overstocking. The company also utilized Sage Enterprise Intelligence, which provided preconfigured key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of every department. This allowed the company to head off problems and nimbly respond to changes. The company was able to meet a very aggressive implementation schedule, going live in under four months.
