About The Customer
YardGuru's customers are individuals or businesses who require gardening or landscaping services. These could be homeowners who need regular lawn maintenance, individuals with a sudden need for gardening services (like the founder who needed his lawn mowed before a house inspection), or businesses that require landscaping services. The app is particularly beneficial for busy individuals who value convenience and transparency in pricing. It allows them to book services at their convenience, compare prices, and read reviews of different service providers. The app is currently operational in Australia, but there are plans to expand into more international markets.
The Challenge
YardGuru was born out of a personal need of its founder, Dylan Anderson, who found the process of booking a gardener to be a hassle. The traditional process involved calling a landscaper, arranging for them to visit the property, and then receiving a quote for their services. This process was time-consuming and inconvenient, especially for busy individuals or those with unexpected circumstances that required immediate gardening services. The lack of transparency in pricing and the inability to compare different service providers were additional challenges. The founder wanted to create a solution that would streamline this process, but initially struggled with the lack of time and funds to launch the project.
The Solution
The solution came in the form of Bubble, a no-code platform that allowed Dylan to build the YardGuru app. The app simplifies and streamlines the process of booking a gardener. Users input their address, select the services they want, and add a few other details. They are then presented with a list of landscapers in their area, complete with a 'Final Quote Price' for each. Users can sort the list by previous customer reviews, price, and distance. Once they've found the right business, they can book a date and time and follow the status of their booking using the 'Dashboard' feature. The app also plans to provide instant landscaping quotes to residential and business owners, with an interactive map that allows clients to design their own yard and receive a quote.
