The Challenge
After a successful NetSuite implementation, Redcat Racing sought a solution to track inventory within their warehouse and import data from NetSuite to their shipping solution. Their original WMS solution was error-prone, causing constant rescanning of orders and needless secondary work for the warehouse manager. Additionally, the relay of information scanned on handhelds to NetSuite was extremely slow, and the software had functionality limitations, such as inadequate cycle counts. Recognizing these issues, Eide Bailly recommended replacing the existing WMS solution with RF-SMART, which promised better functionality and efficiency.
The Solution
Redcat Racing implemented RF-SMART to replace their existing WMS solution, significantly improving productivity and efficiency. RF-SMART's Pick Manager allowed for multi-order picking, reducing manual sorting of pick slips and enabling more efficient batching of orders. This led to increased accuracy in picking and packing orders, as items were scanned at multiple stages to ensure correctness. Additionally, RF-SMART streamlined the receiving process by automating bin assignments and providing visual aids to catch mislabeled parts. The solution also facilitated faster and more flexible cycle counts, allowing Redcat Racing to perform counts without interrupting daily operations.
