About The Customer
The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is a customer of ProServeIT, a managed services and cloud solutions provider. CSA was looking to migrate its mail from a hosted source environment that was fully managed. However, CSA did not have administrative rights on the source environment, which presented a challenge to the migration process. Despite this, ProServeIT was able to successfully complete the complex migration quickly with the help of BitTitan.
The Challenge
ProServeIT’s customer, The Canadian Standards Association, was looking to migrate its mail from a hosted source environment that was fully managed. CSA did not have administrative rights on the source environment. This presented a challenge to the migration process, where typically having full control and administration rights are ideal.
The Solution
ProServeIT understood that, because of this lack of administrator control, they would need to develop an intelligent workaround for the migration to be a success. ProServeIT researched the options and decided to automate the migration using BitTitan MigrationWiz, as it offered the largest global migration infrastructure in the world and, more important, did not require full control of source environment. Following an assessment and planning phase for CSA, ProServeIT used MigrationWiz to undertake the 2,000-user migration. Using the web-based interface of MigrationWiz, ProServeIT was able to easily complete all the steps of the migration. The team configured the migration project in MigrationWiz, complete with what, specifically, needed to be migrated, as well as the source and destination access. After scheduling the migration, the team was able to monitor the progress in real-time.
