The Challenge
Plex Systems Inc. is a developer of the Plex Manufacturing Cloud, a cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for the manufacturing enterprise. The company's customers had to create reports in an SQL programming environment, which was not user-friendly. They needed a better way to empower users to access, analyze, and visualize ERP data. The challenge was to find a solution that could be easily integrated into the Plex Manufacturing Cloud and would allow users to create their own business intelligence environments, complete with customizable portals, dashboards, and a wide variety of reports.
The Solution
Plex Systems used InfoAssist to expose a set of web-based design tools that let people drag and drop data elements into custom reports and dashboards. The company rebranded InfoAssist as “IntelliPlex,” providing a seamless integration that simplifies the transition from the Plex Manufacturing Cloud to the InfoAssist reporting environment. IntelliPlex “Builder” users can create reports, charts, scorecards, and dashboards for IntelliPlex “Viewer” users – all without assistance from the IT department. As reports are created, they can be automatically e-mailed to other Plex users or set up for scheduled distribution. Customers can build strategic plans and link them to metrics, apply filters, change chart types, and manipulate the data as they see fit.
