About The Customer
Oslo Kommune is the largest municipality in Norway and also serves as the capital city. The administration employs approximately 40,000 individuals. The Oslo Fire Department, a unit within the municipality, consists of 450 employees. Within the Fire Department, the Fire Prevention Bureau employs 70 fire inspectors. These inspectors are responsible for the supervision of around 5500 fire objects, including buildings and construction sites. Their duties involve assessing building construction and fire safety measures in the field, checking building data, adding information, and taking pictures of deviations for their reports.
The Challenge
Oslo Kommune, the largest municipality in Norway, was facing a challenge with its fire department. The department, consisting of 70 fire inspectors, was responsible for the supervision of approximately 5500 fire objects, including buildings and construction sites. The inspectors needed to assess building construction and fire safety measures in the field. However, they lacked a system that could allow them to check building data, add information, and take pictures of deviations to include in their reports upon returning to the office. The municipality was using the MS DYN CRM 2011 solution to store this data and was in search of a mobile application that could enable them to bring the entire system into the field.
The Solution
Oslo Kommune tested several mobile applications and ultimately chose Resco Mobile CRM. The decision was based on Resco's user-friendly GUI, the capabilities of Woodford (the app configurator), and the pricing. The Resco Mobile CRM allowed the fire inspectors to bring the entire system into the field, enabling them to add data about deviations and take pictures. The GUI was easy to customize for all users, and merging information like pictures into the reports with Documents Core Pack was straightforward. The implementation of Resco Mobile CRM met the expectations of Oslo Kommune in every way.
