About The Customer
North Bend Medical Center (NBMC) is a medical cooperative based in Coos Bay, Oregon. The center operates five clinic locations and employs 50 physicians, along with over 160 managers and staff. NBMC offers a wide range of specialties, including acupuncture, hematology, oncology, pediatrics, obstetrics, and general surgery. The center was using a manual, spreadsheet-based system to track HR and payroll data for its employees, which was proving to be inefficient and unable to meet the company's needs.
The Challenge
North Bend Medical Center (NBMC) was struggling with a manual, spreadsheet-based system to track HR and payroll data for its employees. The system was inefficient and could not tie HR and payroll data together, making it difficult to keep up with the ever-changing employee information. The management team often had to wait for information such as the number of sick days an employee had left or how much they had contributed to their 401(k) plan. The company urgently needed a better system to process these requests in a timely and accurate manner.
The Solution
NBMC decided to implement Sage 300, a system that would provide seamless information flow between their HR and payroll functions. Since NBMC was already using the Sage 300 General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivables modules, they added the U.S. Payroll module and its EFT Direct Payroll add-in program. The implementation was completed in just three days, and the results were immediate. Using the software’s built-in import tool, NBMC was able to import all of its HR data and have the data automatically populate the Sage 300 Payroll module with the applicable payroll data. The multilevel security features within Sage 300 ensure that confidential employee information is accessible only to authorized personnel.
