MyDomos serves two distinct groups of customers: homeowners of private historic homes and visitors interested in touring these homes. The homeowners are individuals who wish to occasionally host tours and earn income to maintain their properties without the constraints of opening on a regular basis like a museum. The visitors are individuals who are interested in a unique, human experience, not just a standard guided tour of a museum. They are looking for an intimate experience where the homeowners show them around their homes, tell a story, share their passion, and intimate knowledge of the place.
The Challenge
MyDomos, a marketplace for booking tours of private historic homes, faced the challenge of creating a platform that could cater to two distinct user groups: homeowners and visitors. The homeowners needed a platform where they could list their homes for tours, describe the features of their house, and propose a tour at a date and time of their choosing. On the other hand, visitors required a platform where they could easily find and book a tour, complete the reservation with a secure payment system, and receive all the necessary details for the tour. The challenge was to create a user-friendly, secure, and efficient platform that could cater to the needs of both these user groups.
The Solution
MyDomos founder, Benedetto Morici, chose to build the platform on Bubble, a no-code platform that allows the creation of any web app without writing a line of code. Bubble's powerful and versatile tool enabled Benedetto to build a two-sided marketplace catering to both homeowners and visitors. Homeowners can sign up for free, list their homes for tours, and describe the features of their house and the tour they are proposing. Visitors, on the other hand, can easily find and book a tour, complete the reservation with an integrated Stripe payment system, and receive a confirmation email with all the necessary details. The platform also allows for quick interaction with users and making corrections swiftly.
