This was crucial as audience traffic fluctuated for each event. The company also wanted to enhance the interactivity between creators and their fanbase during these live-stream events. Prior to PubNub, Moment House considered building in-house and evaluated multiple platforms to handle any amount of message and usage traffic for large-scale events. They needed a solution that offered high stability for concurrency and minimal downtime.
The Solution
Moment House turned to PubNub to scale their in-app chat to handle events of any size and support unlimited concurrent users without the worry of outages. PubNub's reliable chat infrastructure allowed Moment House to scale their chat to a large number of concurrent users at a time. The ability to store and replay chat logs after a live-stream was also crucial for the team to retrieve user conversations on the backend to understand how to better their platform to meet user expectations. Besides using PubNub for in-app chat, Moment House also used PubNub to power engaging features like notifications, leaderboards, and user presence. These features allowed artists to interact with their audience and individual fans instantaneously, creating an exciting two-way communication experience. The platform also allowed fans to see when other users join a chat, fostering a greater sense of community among the audience.
