About The Customer
Mitsui Knowledge Industry (MKI) is a Japanese company founded in 1991, specializing in providing a wide range of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) services. The company has undergone numerous mergers to expand its capabilities, offering services that include system and network construction, data center services, and cloud services. As an 'ICT Service Creator,' MKI aims to create and develop unique new technologies and services for its customers. The company has offices in the USA, UK, and Singapore, primarily established as infrastructure support centers for its parent company, Mitsui & Co. MKI's Global Business Division focuses on expanding IT infrastructure support and other new services at these overseas offices.
The Challenge
Mitsui Knowledge Industry (MKI) faced the challenge of launching a verification service for various network environments to support Japanese companies expanding overseas. The company needed to comply with the latest standards while maintaining high stability and support for 10GbE networks and IPv6. Additionally, MKI aimed to address issues such as acquiring reliable information on local IT and networks and retaining competent IT engineers locally. The goal was to leverage technological expertise and engineering resources to resolve these issues and support the verification of IT infrastructure for customers at the initial stage.
The Solution
To address the challenges, MKI adopted A10 Networks Thunder ADCs, specifically the Thunder 930 ADC and Thunder 3030 ADC, for their new verification laboratories, including the one in Vietnam. These ADCs were chosen for their high performance, support for the latest technologies like 10GbE networks, IPv6, and SDN, and their robust security features, including DDoS protection. The Thunder 3030S ADC was used for the fundamental network, while the Thunder 930 ADC was used to construct sub-networks and simulation networks. A10 Networks provided extensive support, including training for local engineers in Vietnam, enabling them to master the necessary operational skills and acquire A10 CE qualifications quickly. The collaboration between MKI and A10 Networks facilitated the smooth implementation of the new laboratory and the verification of various network environments and applications.
Operational Impact
  • Successful launch of the 'Global ITO Service' in Vietnam, providing ICT-related outsourcing services to support Japanese companies' overseas expansion.
  • Deployment of advanced ADCs that deliver high performance and support the latest technologies, ensuring compliance with standards and maintaining high stability.
  • Smooth implementation in Vietnam, facilitated by flexible and generous support from A10 Networks, including training for local engineers.
  • Verification of various network environments and applications, including Microsoft’s unified communication products, enhancing the laboratory's capabilities.
  • Ongoing collaboration with A10 Networks to promote overseas development and expand business in Asia, leveraging the laboratory's engineering resources.
Quantitative Benefit
  • The A10 Thunder Series delivers application networking solutions up to 150 Gbps.
  • Engineers in the laboratory acquired A10 CE qualifications within a short period.
  • The laboratory supports 10GbE networks and IPv6, ensuring high performance and compliance with the latest standards.
